Women Empowerment & Education
Kameng Welfare Society
India is a land of customs, tradition and practices which have developed through centuries to centuries. These customs, traditions and practices become the consciousness of our society. We are worshipers of female goddesses and also give great importance to our mothers, daughters, sisters, wives and other female relatives or friends. But with the same time, we never forget the male superiority complex and patriarchal system of society. Hence, to eliminate ill practices and discrimination against women we need to empower women.
Activity
Women Empowerment refers to the creation of an environment for women where they can make decisions of their own for their personal benefits as well as for the society. Education is globally acknowledged as the most powerful means of empowering girls and women and protecting them from the violation of their human rights. Investing in girls' and women's education can transform, and even save, lives—the lives of girls and women, and the lives of their families and communities. It is one of the most effective ways to achieve positive, sustainable change in the world, for everyone.
During the year we organized various women empowerment programmes to create awareness on women education and women health. On 26th of January 2019, we organized a seminar to make women aware about health care during pregnancy, proper nutrition during adolescence, health care of newborn babies and mothers etc.
Education eliminates superstitions and wrong beliefs. Our programmes stressed mainly on the importance of women education about how educated women can change society. If you educate a man, you educate an individual. But if you educate a woman, you educate a nation. When girls are educated, their countries become stronger and more prosperous.
